Sergeant (Retired) Don Ferguson, CD

Board Member

Sergeant (Retired) Don Ferguson, CD, joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1984 as a Communications Operator and served with the Canadian Airborne Regiment, First Canadian Division Headquarters, and the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He deployed on peacekeeping missions to the UN buffer zone between Syria and Israel (UNDOF) and to the former Yugoslavia (UNPROFOR). Sergeant Ferguson’s service has been recognized with the UNDOF and UNPROFOR medals, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, and the Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD).

After nearly 20 years of service, he was medically released in 2003 following a diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depression. Today, he serves as Chief Animal Protection Officer and Executive Director with Animal Protection Services of Saskatchewan.
